ABOUT THE
St HELENS SINGERS
Originally formed as an Operatic Society in 1926, The St Helens Singers is a mixed choir which performs regularly in and around St Helens. This year we are celebrating our centenary and are looking forward to marking this musical milestone!
Up to 2011 the group staged at least one of the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas each year, as well as concerts. Since then we have concentrated on concert work, but we have sung at other events. In 2014 the Society changed its name to 'The St Helens Singers', with the emphasis on four-part harmony. We continued to expand our repertoire, and now include jazz, swing, choral, religious works, African songs, music from the Golden Age of Hollywood and West End shows. Whatever your musical preference, there is sure to be something for you!
